Event: 'Mexican Calendar Girls' Print
FOMA Programs
Date: Sunday, January 29, 2012 At 12:00 PM
Duration: 2 Hours

Mexican calendar art is a unique, ephemeral art form often dismissed by the cultural elite as mere advertising.  But to the Mexican public, the images of the calendar girls were embraced as the nostalgic emblems of Mexican Culture and pride.  Speaker Angela Villalba (author of Mexican Calendar Girls) lived and worked in Oaxaca in the 1980s and 90s when she started her calendar collection which now numbers over 250.  This event (free for FOMA members) will take place at 2:00 pm on Sunday, January 29, at the Franciscan Renewal Center.   Don't miss it!
